A 1940s Uweco Genève mechanical watch with an ivory dial and blued steel hands. Produced under the Universal Watch Company name and closely associated with Universal Genève, this is a rare and understated piece from the brand’s broader ecosystem.

In great condition with no scratches on the crystal. Normal wear and tear on the watch itself. The movement has been professionally tested and is running perfectly. This watch has been carefully preserved to maintain its originality.

Why This Watch?

Uweco—short for Universal Watch Company—was a secondary brand linked to Universal Genève, occupying a similar position to how Tudor related to Rolex at the time. These watches were produced in Geneva by Perret & Berthoud SA and share design and manufacturing DNA with Universal Genève’s main-line models.

Rather than carrying overt branding, Uweco pieces were defined by their quality and restraint. The clean dial layout, blued hands, and balanced proportions reflect the functional elegance Universal Genève was known for in the 1940s. The dial shows gentle, honest aging, while the chromed steel case bears wear consistent with its age, adding character rather than distraction.

Uweco Genève watches are seldom encountered today, and surviving examples are increasingly scarce. This is a watch for collectors who appreciate Universal Genève beyond its most famous references and value historical context as much as aesthetics.
